We continue the series about Elder Scrolls Online and the latest chapter – Greymoor. Here you will learn how to get the Malacath ring – “The One Ring”!
With the arrival of a new chapter to ESO Greymoor, we’ve been allowed to acquire powerful mythical items.
UPDATE! New stats: Malacath’s Band of Brutality (1 item): Increases your damage done by 16% but decreases your Critical Damage done by 50%. (Before: Malacath Bond of Brutality Ring increases your damage done by 25% but You cannot deal critical damage.)
You can get Malacath Ring with the two skill lines: scrying (finding information about where to bury the object) and excavation (i.e. the skills of these excavations).

Malacath’s Band of Brutality
One of the most powerful mythical items added in Greymoor Skyrim is the Malacath Band of Brutality ring. Here’s how to get it:
- You need to have scrying level 7 to be able to dig the yellow items that combine into the mythical item. (learn how to level scrying fast here)
- You need to get 5 leads to this subject and later dig each one separately. The collected five parts will self assemble into the Malacath’s Bond Ring.
To get this ring you have to go to five locations on the map and get the so-called leads.
One of them can be obtained in the area where you can fight other players (PvP) – Imperial City. To get the lead, you need to kill the bosses in the upper districts of Imperial City.
These zones can only be accessed by joining a PVP campaign (by clicking “L”). There is access to:
- Imperial City. You can reach the appropriate district using the ladders in the starting base. There is one boss in each district. Remember that you can be a victim of other players.
TIP: If you want to leave Cyrodil and Imperial City, all you have to do is sign up for Cyrodil at Imperial City and vice versa. Then you will find the beginning of the map from which you can leave.

Let us know if you were lucky with obtaining parts of this ring?
nice guide ,very helpful ,got my ring in 6 hours,ty
I was killing zombies and wolves in Betnikh for a couple hours and didn’t get the lead..
Sadly, this is RNG so someone gets in first 20 mobs, and someone must kill few hundreds. I got mine in about 2-3 hours.
Queen of three mercies isn’t dropping for me. Done killed her ten time in a row
Try to kill other bosses too. Lead drops from all bosses in this location. Unfortunately, the drop is pure rng.
Queen of three mercies isn’t dropping for me. Done killed her ten time in a row, got it after my 13th try
GZ! 🙂 I got my lead on the fifth or sixth time.
I think harder to get is the Malacath’s Brutal Rune Core lead. People in my guild sometimes farming this lead for hours.
BTW important info here! Leads stay only for 30 days and if you don’t dig them then you need to get them again… “the system has a 30 day count down timer before the leads disappear”.
Can’t get the wrothgar lead to drop. Over 100 pub dungeon bosses
Lead drops only in Old Orsinium. I got my two leads from Harpies (Old Orsinium location: https://youtu.be/qVdGKX0gebk?t=420, and Harpy boss – https://youtu.be/qVdGKX0gebk?t=465). Good Luck!
